Easy Ways to Divide a Space. What is a partitioned wall?

There are many reasons people want to separate a room. In offices, it might be about creating private meeting spaces or reducing noise on an open floor. In hospitality, dividing space helps set the mood for different areas like dining, lounging, or events. At home, it could be carving out a quiet study, a playroom for kids, or even a walk-in wardrobe. Whatever the reason, the right partition system makes it possible without a full renovation.

One of the most versatile options is the MF stud partition wall. Commonly used across commercial properties and residential projects, this system offers a practical, cost-effective way to create new rooms or define areas without the need for heavy structural work.

What Is a Partition Wall?

A partition wall is a non-load-bearing wall used to divide interior spaces within a building. Unlike structural walls, partition walls do not support the building’s weight. These walls are designed purely to create separate rooms or areas for functionality, privacy, or aesthetics.

Plasterboard partition Installation:Step-by-Step

1. Mark the wall layout on floor and ceiling.

2. Fix metal or timber studs to floor, ceiling, and walls.

3. Install insulation between the studs if needed.

4. Attach plasterboard sheets to one side of the frame.

5. Fix plasterboard sheets to the opposite side.

6. Tape and joint the plasterboard seams.

7. Sand the joints smooth once dry.

8. Finish with paint or your chosen wall finish.
