Seamless Acoustic Panel Installation for a Modern Private Kitchen, Bridgwater.
Residential properties can face just as many acoustic challenges as commercial spaces. In homes like this one, where period features are preserved alongside a modern open-plan layout, sound issues such as reverberation are almost inevitable. However, this doesn’t mean these spaces are unworkable, it simply requires an approach that works with the architecture rather than against it.
Project Overview
Acoustic rafts were seamlessly integrated within the existing timber beams. This solution not only introduced effective sound absorption—capturing sound waves reflecting off walls and ceilings—but also enhanced the open-plan layout by adding subtle visual separation without disrupting the character of the space.
The private client approached us with concerns around excessive reverberation in their high-ceiling kitchen. Their priority was to improve acoustic comfort while maintaining the architectural beauty of the property.
Delivery
Following an on-site consultation to understand the acoustic requirements of the space, the ISS team returned to the workshop to manufacture a set of bespoke rectangular, fabric-wrapped acoustic panels in the following sizes:
50mm Fabric-Wrapped Acoustic Panels
2 × 2400mm × 1200mm
8 × 1200mm × 1200mm
Once manufactured, installation was scheduled to suit the client’s availability. The panels were suspended using discreet metal fixings, carefully aligned with the existing timber beams to ensure a seamless finish throughout the kitchen.
The full installation was completed in a single working day, delivering a fast, professional service from consultation through to completion.
